Bassman 1 and 2 connected

I guess you could call this a cheap trick, but after I had finished the first two Bassman clips it hit me that I could connect them to something really nice. So a cheap trick it might be, but on the other hand you get a real long and nice clip.

Bassman 2

Here’s part two of the same idea. It starts of with the same section that the first one ended with but then goes into a section that’s totally new. Notice the small drum break towards the end, I improvised that in one take on a keyboard while laying down the other drums, I impressed myself quite a bit there, didn’t know I had it in me!

Bassman 1

Here’s a clip I came up with when I felt like playing around with a bass. First I just laid down the kick drum (which is really heavy) sort of like a metronome to have something to play to with the bass. I then added more drums and percussion (claps, hihats, cymbals, cowbell) as well as two different electric pianos. Finally I ran it through tape for some more analog feel.

Gracieness 2

The second version of the same idea. A little more bass heavy (thanks to more percussion) than the first.

Gracieness 1

I got a sample library with carnival drum sounds the other day and just had to try out some Brazilian influenced stuff. The name is a nod to the Brazilian jiu-jitsu family – the Gracies. Being an old practitioner of their art myself, I just had to pay a little tribute to them.
