Alright, gather around ladies and gentlemen. A new section have been requested: Audio lingo. Basically this will be posts with short descriptions of anything audio related that the regular Joe might not instantly recognize. Because of this there will be a little repetition every now and then, but on the other hand it will be much easier for you to find the explanation of something, and I won’t have to write what a compressor is in every other post. Alright?

Engadget posted about this cheap USB microphone. Obviously geared towards very low-end musicians (semi-pro for $99, yeah right) but the way I see it, it could work well for podcasts. As I’ve mentioned in the past, the USB microphones let you record without a proper interface or mic preamp, so if your intention is to only record your voice this might be a good solution.
A bluesy thing: two guitars, drums and bass. I did it while trying out the latest Logic release. Details on the project can be found on Slapdelay.
