Marantz PMD 580 digital recorder

Marantz is introducing the PMD580 Solid State Recorder, a rackmount digital recorders. The new PMD580 brings many of the same features found in the PMD Series recorders but adds network connectivity. Via its Ethernet port, the PMD580 can be positioned as a network device, allowing users to set menu parameters, schedule recording events, and transfer and archive audio files, all by using a web-based GUI interface from any PC or Mac in the network.

Soundhack - free (and not free) audio tools

I just happened to stumble upon a company called Soundhack today. They have plenty of tools for free, including one for specral audio processing, a pitch fork (probably not very interesting for podcasting) as well as a free plug-in bundle with various effects.

This is really funky…

Here’s an older piece I found that I think I actually did entirely out of samples. The mix was to pretty though so I roughened it up… A lot! 70’s romanticizing things shouldn’t sound like Cheiron, they should be noisy, distorted, vinyl and flangy!

Voice Thing! lets anyone subtly or radically change the character of their voice, turn their (audio) self into a monster or alien, or create the effect of being in a wide variety of sonic environments, from small rooms to huge halls.
