Yamaha is now shipping their Pocketrak CX, the next in line of their pocket recorders which follows the Pocketrak 2G Pocket Recorder. The difference lies in an upgraded stereo microphone system and expandability. The body is very slim, and the CX weighs only 100 gram.

I just browsed Youtube and found this video clip. It’s an interview with the makers of Profcast.
Again weird distant sounding drums, a bass and a guitar. The big difference here is in the guitar which ends in a fair amount of feedback. Not sure what you could use this for, but you might be able to come up with something.
This is some weird distant sounding and drums along with a bass and some chugging effects which is actually a loudly amped guitar.

Røde now has a video of their Procaster broadcasting microphone (previous post) on their website. Unfortunately I couldn’t embed it so you’ll have to go to their website to check it out.
The video is partly pure advertising for Røde which really shouldn’t come as a surprise since it’s their website. There’s some interesting things in there however, regardless if you’re interested in this particular microphone or not. The guy in the video talks a little about microphone technique for broadcasting (which of course is the same for podcasting or any spoken word) with some interesting tips about distances.
