Here’s a little something Mac users might enjoy (no Windows version available). Soundflower is a great tool for OS X 10.2 and upwards. Basically what it does is that it lets you connect one application to another and pass audio between the two.

iZotopes ANR-B adaptive noise reduction unit now available

Here’s a unit that’s bound to be too high-end for most podcasters (and for me for that matter). At a dazzling price of around $5000 the ANR-B adaptive noise reduction hardware unit (previous post) is not likely to attract home users who wants to get rid of noise. Radio stations seem to like it however.

Treat your room in style

Auralex Acoustic has come up with the idea that should have come up years ago. It’s called SOnicPrint and it looks good. After all why treat your room in only red or blue or whatever when you can have wicked film styled photos, art or any photo you like on your walls and still get the benefits of proper acoustic treatment?

Price? I have no idea. I bet it’s not cheap.

Alesis 1-RU stereo line mixer now shipping

Looking for a line mixer for the bigger badder podcast rig? Alesis has announced a 1-RU eight channel line mixer. MultiMix 8 Line features eight stereo channels with a mic/line input on channel one and stereo effects send and return. When a mono signal is present on any input or stereo send, the Left signal is automatically summed to mono for mono and stereo compatibility.
