Alesis iPod field recorder – ProTrack

Alesis has revealed a potential field recorder for owners of iPods – ProTrack (I wonder how long it took to come up with that name). ProTrack records to your iPod (Classic or 5th Generation), or iPod nano (2nd or 3rd Generation) in 16 bit 44.1 or 22 kHz either via the two built-in condenser microphones, or by connecting an external microphone (or other audio source I suppose). It features two combination XLR (mic) 1/4 inch inputs which can be phantom powered and 1/8 inch outputs. Other features worth noting is that it includes a ‘switchable limiter’; it runs on batteries and includes a tripod stand.
