Today I’ll continue to talk about what I found at NAMM that could be of interest to podcasters.

SM Pro Audio showed plenty of products, like the Mic Thing in white, headphone amps, mic amps and even a volume control. Here’s all their press releases from NAMM.

iZotope announced that their audio restoration application RX (which I have talked about a couple of times in the past) will be released as a plug-in in February. It will be available in all common formats.

If you want to podcast in style, then Blue Microphones showed more options than the Snowflake. Or how about Joe? More about it on ProTooler. Blue mics always look cool. Here’s a link to their current lineup.

Sonalksis introduced a mastering bundle. Sure, it’s just that – a mastering bundle – but podcasts can be mastered too. Here’s the info on them at ProTooler.

Speaking of ProTooler, Digidesign, the makers of Pro Tools introduced two new “studio bundles”. While one of them might be a little too music oriented, the other could be a very good starting point for a podcaster. The Personal Studio bundle (top picture) includes, among other things, an Mbox Mini audio interface, M-Audio Nova microphone, M-Audio Studiophile AV40 monitors, and as with all Digidesign audio interfaces – a version of the audio software Pro Tools, in this case Pro Tools LE.
