PM EVENT NEWS

Announcing the first round of PM23 Sessions and Speakers!

Podcast Movement broke another record this year with nearly 700 submissions received from around the world from awesome community members looking to take the stage in Denver. It’s always one of the most difficult tasks for the PM team and the review committee, as there are way more great session ideas than we have room for.

That being said, we think this year’s topics, speakers, and panelists will be amazing, and we’re excited to share the first round of announcements this week, and will have dozens more in the weeks to come!

Summer Meetup Tour Update

In what’s already shaping up to be our biggest summer meetup tour to date, we’ve got some exciting updates, including introducing Mackie as our tour sponsor, and all of the prizes they’re giving away to attendees at all four stops.

2023 Summer Podcast Movement Meetup Tour

If you’ve never been to one of our meetups before, they’re essentially ways to bring together local podcasters to meet each other, network, and learn from one another, when often they did not even know a local community of podcasters existed!

In other words, Podcast Movement throws the party, and everyone is invited to attend (free)! But this year, Mackie is making it even more special:

Attendees at each stop will have the opportunity to try out Mackie’s

DLZ Creator podcast mixer

EM-99B broadcast microphones

MC-350 headphones

DB-200 Premium Boom Arms

PLUS one meetup attendee at each stop will go home with a pair of MC-350 Headphones… and one lucky attendee across the whole tour will win the full suite of gear listed above!

Check out these upcoming stops, and make plans to join us if you’re nearby.

Podcast Industry News from Podnews

The Week in Podcasting

We know it’s tough to keep up with the ever-changing industry, whether you’re a creator, an industry professional, or somewhere in between.

We’re going to use this section to share some of the top stories from the last week, in our eyes, from our friends at Podnews and Podcast Business Journal.

The Gadgeteer reviews the new Mackie DLZ Mixer (read above to learn how to win one)

Listen, a major podcast producer based in London, has been acquired by PodX Group

Edison Podcast Metrics also published the top podcast genres in the US

Veritonic released an infographic about summer audio listening

The Gen Z Podcast Listener Report was unveiled by SXM Media

AdsWizz has released The State of Audio Technology Report 2023

And if you’re in the UK, don’t miss Podnews Live, taking place in MediaCity UK, Salford. It’s the first of a set of local day-long conferences that focus on sharing knowledge and networking in the business of podcasting. With speakers from Crowd Network, the BBC, MIC media and many more, Podnews Live is small enough to network, and varied enough to make sure that anyone can get the most out of the event. Book your tickets for June 13 now

Card Party – The Event for Pokemon Creators!

This Weekend in Anaheim

We wanted to remind the Pokemon fans in our audience that 2-time Podcast Movement keynote speaker Pat Flynn, known to the Pokemon world as Deep Pocket Monster, is hosting a convention called Card Party. It takes place THIS WEEKEND in Anaheim, California!

The event is created to be the only one in the world for people who create content about Pokemon and for fans of those creators! If that describes you, or someone you know, definitely check out Card Party. The Podcast Movement team will be there having some fun, and we’d love you to say “hi”!

Finally, we wanted to remind everyone of our Community and Event Codes of Conduct. As the online community continues to grow and evolve, and our next big in-person event gets closer, it’s never a bad time to make sure that we are all respectful of one another.

With that said, we hope your week is going great, and we can’t wait to be back in your inbox soon!

The Podcast Movement Team
